Children / Young persons between the age of eight and sixteen can only join the listed adult programmes when accompanied by an adult member of their family or close adult friend.

Specific Children's Workshops will be targetted from time to time around the year to give rich clay experience that will be planned to the detail for groups of eight as a maximum.


The workshop has had twenty years experience in delivering these well structured clay extravaganzas for young pottery students that introduces sound thoroughly tested projects 'on' and 'off' the wheel. Each such workshop depends upon the entire workshop facility being totally prepared prior to the students' arrival. Two projects, one on the wheel and one by hand only, are fully demonstrated before each student is challenged with their interpretation.

These projects have already proved themselves to be a great pottery package for young people not to be missed.

We are sorry that these specific workshops for the young will not be available during the months of July, August and September of any year. We anticipate a maximum of three projects a year depending upon enrolement numbers which need a minimum count of twenty students. Numbers can be supplemented by a small number of very lucky adults.

Each project is planned and designed to last no more than two and half hours; the time being divided into the initial demonstrations of about half an hour, the wheel project (with and without help) about twenty five minutes, and finally, the hand constructed project uses all remaining time. It is intended that that each young student receives a balance between instruction and self challenge and creativity; hopefully achieving a true reflection of a pottery workshop experience.
